ADELAIDE
City

The city of churches is a beautiful
drive to or from Melbourne along the Great Ocean Road.
The city itself was originally made by colonists from
stone so there is a graciousness to the buildings and
architecture. Crowded against the sea by pleasant hills
the centre is very small with key historical markers
like the town hall and post office where Charles Todd
originally proposed the overland telegraph line. Adelaide
is a good base from which to explore nearby regions
including the wine growing areas of the Clare Valley,
the Adelaide Hills and the coastal areas like Kangaroo
Island.
