ROTORUA

The smell of rotten eggs or
thermal activity will greet you on arrival here and
you may dislike the linger of it in your hair and clothes
later! but it's interesting to see. Some of the more
popular attractions here include the public Polynesian
Pools which have varying degrees of temperature starting
from normal pools to ones that are almost too hot to
enter. The thermal activities are the main attraction
and there are many attractions in the city centre and
surrounding countryside. Consider some day trips to
places like Wai-O-Tapu, Hell's Gate and the Waimangu
Volcanic Valley, or the Te Whakarearewa Thermal Reserve
for it's excellent Maori cultural centre and Pohutu
geyser. Rotorua is popular with budget travellers and
you will also find the usual adventure activities.
