We stayed there last week, in feb.05, and we must say that this hostel is okay. The most we enjoyed that there was no bar, no drunken guys and girls. So we were satisfied and above all the prices are included a breakfast-buffet. It was alright.

This castle by the sea is in a fantastic location just north of the Cinque Terre. It is such a quiet little place and it is perfect for day tripping from there around the coast. You can actually rent out the entire place, there are 3 or 4 bedrooms, a kitchen, dining room and lounge, plus terraces and outdoor garden all overlooking the sea. We just took one of the rooms. It had the most amazing sea view, a little noisy at night but just fantastic. Breakfast was simple, just breads and coffee but we were given food from the wedding that was held there on the weekend which was great.

Hotel Djoliba
Segou, Mali
This hotel is not on the waterfront but it is in a great position on some cross roads and the rooftop terrace affords a good view of the street life. The rooms are really clean and comfortable and there is also a dorm if you are on a budget. The backside garden restaurant is a nice place to hang out and they also have a bar and television. Segou itself is also a fantastic place to relax with access to the Niger River and friendly village people.
