are some of the odder elements
on the menu:
Pease Pudding and Mushy Peas -
large marrowfat peas are
cooked in water until they
become mushy. It is used as a
kind of vegetable and sauce
combined and often served
amongst fish and chips.
Whitebait - a minnow-sized
fish eaten whole i.e heads,
innards and all, dusted in
flour and deep fried.
Jellied eels - this Cockney
food is often served with pies.
The eel cooking liquid is
served over pies and potatoes
as a gravy.
