1-3 days
With just a few days to visit Ireland you
will have time probably just to visit Dublin
(where we assume you may land) and some
places nearby like Powerscourt and Glendalough
to the south, or perhaps Newgrange, Melifont
and Monasterboice in the north.
1 week
With a bit more time you could visit the
places mentioned above like Dublin, Newgrange,
Mellifont, Monasterboice and also the Burren
and Kilkenny.
2 weeks
As above plus the Ring of Kerry, Killarney
and Cork.
4 weeks
A month long foray to Ireland will allow
you to comfortably cover the major attractions
around the coast of Ireland (with your own
car, with public transport it would be difficult).
You would still be moving fast and it might
be best covered in 2 months (see below).
2 months
You could easily cover the major attractions
around the coast via public transport in
this time. If you have your own car you
could move more slowly and see things in
more depth or consider tackling some of
it on foot. With a motorcycle or bicycle
you can also open up more opportunities
to explore. See our getting
there pages for more details.
