January 1 - Hogmanay

The Royal National Mod
Mòd 2005 will be held in The Western Isles from 14-22 October while Mod 2006 will take place in Dunoon from 13-21 October 2006.
The Royal National Mod www.the-mod.co.uk is Scotland's premier Gaelic festival of the Gaelic language, arts and culture and is held annually in October at a different location in Scotland. The Mod is a competition-based festival which celebrates the Gaelic language and culture through music, dance, drama, arts and literature.
