Monarch of the Glen is a popular series about a family in the Scottish highlands. It is actually filmed in numerous locations including Ardverikie House, Loch Laggan, Laggan River, Pattack Hill, Lochan na h-Earba, Kinloch Laggan, Moy, Roy Bridge, Glenfinnan, Loch an Eilein, Broomhill, Carrbridge, Kinguissie, Kincraig and Newtonmore. Hamish Macbeth was filmed over a large area of the North West Highlands of Scotland although most took place near the village of Plockton in Wester Ross. Braveheart, that won 5 oscars, was filmed in Scotland and Ireland. The Scottish scenes were filmed in and around Glen Coe, Glen Nevis and the Mamore mountains.
The Harry Potter films were also filmed in Scotland. The Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban set was near Glencoe village at Glen Coe. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was mostly filmed in England but also in Glen Nevis, Fort William and the Mallaig Railway Line. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was filmed at Glenfinnan Viaduct.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was most filmed in Exmoor, Devon (England) due to bad weather but filming also took place in Glen Coe, Glen Nevis and Glenfinnan.
